About Sector skills councils

Sector Skills Councils are expert and consulting bodies formed as a partnership; their basic function is to define the needs for qualifications on the Republic of Serbia labour market.

The responsibilities of Sector Skills Councils are implemented through the following duties:

analysing existing and assessing the necessary qualifications within the particular sector
identifies which qualification should be modernised
identifying the qualifications that no longer meet the needs of the sector
drafting the qualification standards within the sector
providing an opinion on the expected learning outcomes and skills within the sector;
promoting dialogue and immediate cooperation between the field of labour and the field of education;
promoting opportunities for education, training and employment within the sector;
identifies opportunities for adult education within the sector;
considering the implications of the National Qualifications Framework on qualifications within the sector;
proposing the list of qualifications by levels and types that can be acquired by recognition of previous learning
promoting potentials for employment, vocational education and training within sector;
deliberating the implications of NQF on qualifications within sector.
