Minister of Education, Science and Technological Development, Mr Mladen Šarčević opened today the meeting of the Inter-Institutional Working Group for the establishment and implementation of the National Qualifications Framework in the Republic of Serbia (NQFS).

During the meeting, the draft Law on the National qualifications framework developed by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development and the Development and Higher Education Sector was presented and discussed. The draft Law was also developed in accordance with the suggestions of the members of the operational level of the Inter-Institutional Working Group.

Prof. Dr Vesna Mandić, Assistant Minister for Development and Higher Education, presented to the members all provisions and articles of the law, which was followed by a discussion. Present representatives of relevant institutions had positive comments and constructive critics that were appreciated by prof. Dr Mandić.

The meeting was also attended by representatives of the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Public Administration and Local Self-Government, the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, the National Employment Service, the Union of Employers of Serbia, the Council for Vocational Education and Adult Education, the National Educational Council, the Conference of Universities of Serbia, the Conference of the Academies of Professional Studies of Serbia, the United Trade Union Independence and the Independent Trade Unions of Serbia.

After considering suggestions and recommendations on the draft law, it will be forwarded to a public hearing, in accordance with further procedures necessary for the adoption of the new law.
